What do you love about the college you’ll be attending? Something that I love about UMass Amherst is the big and beautiful campus.
How/why did you choose your major? My grandmother was a physics teacher for high school students. So every time I visited her during the summer she would tell me a lot of interesting facts about nature. Her stories helped me to understand why we see rainbows and taught me how to care about a garden. That’s how I developed a passion for STEM. Later, when I was a sophomore in high school I got a chance to take an Engineering by Design class where we did a lot of projects. I loved working in a team and getting hands on tasks. During my first semester of senior year, I took Introduction to Neuroscience course where we learned a lot about how people think, make decisions and learn. I chose biomedical engineering because it combines both biological sciences and engineering. Who is a role model for you/someone that you look up to and why? My role model is my mom. No matter how hard life gets she always smiles and moves forward, solving every problem that stands in front of her.
