Why did you pick your college major? How did that help lead (or not) to where you are now?
I wanted a job in the STEM industry where I could use my degree in many fields and felt like I was making a difference.

Did your major change from first year to senior year?
Yes I was BME but changed to Management with BME concentration because I wanted management skills too.

What impact/influence did ZF have on your academic career? Your professional career?
Throughout college it was amazing to have a coach through ZF to talk about finances and any life advice. In my professional career,

What piece of advice would you give to your college/high school self?
Definitely think about your major choice in college realistically. I know people who are in their senior year realizing they need to do more school to get the job they wanted. I know it is hard, but maybe do some research on the job market with the major you will be getting and if you need to do more school. I chose engineering because you only need four years of undergrad to get the job that I wanted.

What are some roadblocks you have hit during your career? How did you get through them?
It was hard for me to find a job right out of school so I took a job that I was overqualified for. I worked hard at that job and used that experience to apply for new jobs and I am currently working at that new job now.

What is your favorite thing about your job?
I like how it is a mix of being in field and being at my desk. Every day is different and I am constantly solving problems.

Any exciting projects that you’re currently working on (that you can share publicly)?
I am working on qualifying some facilities and clean rooms at Vertex to support their new drug Casgevy for sickle cell disease.

Tell us about a time you made yourself proud.
I was proud of myself for taking and sticking with my first job even though I hated it. All experience is good experience.

Do you have a favorite quote or saying?
Everything happens for a reason.
What hobbies/interests do you have outside of work? Tell us about them! Why are they your passions and how did you get involved?
I am into fitness so I do strength training at the gym as part of my daily routine. I prioritize my health and wellness so this is something that makes me feel good. I also do yoga once or twice a week. I also got into golf after I graduated college and that has been an amazing activity where I am constantly improving. It is great to be outside and play a sport in the summer.
