What do you love about the college you’ll be attending?
I like the feel of the city environment, I also like their architecture program allowing for me to have a much quicker and easier path to licensure.

How/why did you choose your major?
I chose architecture because I’ve always liked building things such as models with my hands and participating in things like woodshop. I also have always liked incorporating nature into my buildings and the aspect of design in general. I also enjoyed drawing.

What hobbies/extracurriculars/other interests do you have? Tell us about them! Why are they your passions and how did you get involved?
I play tennis and football, I love art (specifically charcoal and pencil drawing), I play the guitar (base, acoustic, and electric), I love to snowboard, I am in woodworking and have been for the past 3 years (currently making my own snowboard), I like playing video games.

Why did you apply to ZF/what drew you to this organization?
My school counselor presented it to the class and I liked how morally based it was.

Tell us about a time you made yourself proud.
This school year I played the hardest tennis game of my life. This kid was the top 2 divisions above me and I had just lost to him in a close process at GMC‘s earlier that week. I started the game by losing the first set 2-6 and trailing in the second set 0-4. But I didn’t give up and ended up winning the second set 6-4 and taking the match in a third set tiebreaker 10-8.

Tell us about some of your career aspirations. It’s totally ok if you aren’t sure yet! This can be as specific or as general as you want.
I think I want to be a freelance architect so I can pick up my own clients. I want to build houses that flow seamlessly into nature and are aesthetically pleasing.

Who is a role model for you/someone that you look up to and why?
I look up to my uncle because he is very independent and always prepared for every situation.

Do you have a favorite quote/what is a saying that you live by?
Highlighting that success does not require perfection, he noted that despite winning most of his matches, he only won about 54% of the points played. - Roger Federer

I like this quote because it shows that failing is a part of life. No one is perfect and no one is going to succeed without it.
