ZF Real-World Coaching

Meet our Coaches

Picture
We encourage our students to develop and live by strong values.
We strive to coach them on how to apply them to key life decisions.
Our pragmatic life principles help our students succeed and create a ZF community with a common value system .
We believe that Effective Adults become role models and leaders by living their values personally, professionally, and with all touching their lives.

When we first started working with students, we were just a scholarship provider. As we began working with students earlier in their application process, we discovered that they and their families needed to make decisions that effect them years, perhaps decades, into the future. Once in place, decisions such as school choice, academic emphasis and financial obligations, become difficult to change. Hence, we at ZF broadened our mission from simply providing financial support to “Helping Students Become Effective Adults” and began working with students and families earlier in their college application process. We found ourselves coaching far more than we were evaluating and selecting students to receive our scholarships. Some students, in fact, made decisions whereby they no longer needed our financial assistance.
We are not experts nor do we have hidden agendas - political, economic, academic or vocational. We’re situational and focus on specific student needs where we can add perspective. We coach and learn by working with our students, by asking questions and encouraging discussions between students, their families and advisors. While no one can ensure “right” decisions, we encourage thoughtful and informed decisions. As we see patterns, we seek or develop reference materials and tools, such as our College Affordability Toolkit, as resources for our community.
