How/why did you choose your major?
Because it is one, interesting, and two, it is something that will help a lot of people by improving the living conditions of so many.

Tell us about some of your career aspirations.
I am not sure yet but I want to get into bio robotics!

Do you have a favorite quote?
“If life gives you lemonade, make lemon and let life say what” from Modern Family . It might sound ridiculous, but from all the things I have been through, there was never a chance for me to be where I am now, but here I am. I gave life lemons from lemonade.

What impact has ZF had on your academic and professional career thus far?
It has helped me achieve something I never thought I could, like attending the University of Maine.

What is your relationship with your coach like?
It is great, I get so much support and help from him.

What is something you love about your school?
It gives me freedom to explore.

What hobbies/extracurriculars do you have?
I am the secretary of the Black Student Union, which is something I am passionate about, helping black students to get enough support from the school since it is a PWI (Predominantly White Institution).

What drew you to the Zenie Foundation?
It is the fact that education is very valued which is something I value myself.

Tell us about a time you made yourself proud.
I am really proud of the academic achievement from my last academic year.

Who is a role model for you?
I look up to my mother who achieved so much from a very conservative and patriarchal society in Burundi, which inspires the feminist side of me.
