Hello, I am Roy (he/him).
College is an amazing time of learning the critical thinking and problem solving skills to pursue your passion wherever that my take you. There is no one path to getting there. Every day is a learning experience. Every day is an opportunity. The path is yours to discover, choose and live.
My professional background began by getting a Master’s degree in Economics. My first jobs landed me in India and Washington D.C. as a research assistant in political economy focused on marginalized groups and their lack of opportunity. This focus has remained at the core of my work over the years, and includes writing songs in a rock’n’roll band, providing social services to
children and families, and coordinating a high school peer mentoring program. There are so
many ways to be an economist!
I love to read, sail, cook and play guitar, and do my best to keep up on
political/economic/cultural current events. I am married with two adult children, both of whom
are pursuing college and post college education. I live in Portland, Maine.
My role as your Zenie Foundation coach is to offer my knowledge and experience as your guide
to using college for becoming an effective adult. I love working with young people as you
discover who you are and who you want to become. You are my teachers of our unfolding world.
I look forward to working with you.
Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn!
