Hello,
We are Laura (she/her) & Tim (he/him) and we live in Eden, UT, but summer on Cape Cod in MA.
Laura studied Art and Elementary Education at Elms College in MA. She was a full time teacher, teaching both art and elementary subjects for 25 years in both MA and UT, before slowing down to devote most of her time to raising 2 children, now in their 20’s. She then returned to substitute teaching on a part-time basis. She is now retired and passionate about family, painting, music and skiing! She also loves to saltwater fish and shellfish.
Tim began his career as a CPA, but quickly transitioned to working with and building small businesses. He worked in accounting, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and development roles through his career. He started an innovative packaging company and recently retired from his role there as President and CEO. He is retired now and loves to ski in the winter and is a saltwater fisherman, lobsterman, and shell fisherman in the summer.
Fortunately, we have passed on our best qualities to our children. Our son TJ graduated from Berklee College of Music and is the co-founder of EMO Nite, a global event production company that curates, promotes, and performs music based concerts and festivals, and co-founder of Ride or Cry, a digital strategy company, specializing in branding, content creation, video production, and outreach program development. Both companies are located in Los Angeles. Our daughter Leah has a B.A. from Emmanuel College in Psychology, and a Master's degree from Simmons College in Social Work. She works for One Medical Senior Health as an Integrated Behavioral Health Lead for Northeast and Texas markets and teaches as an Adjunct Professor in the Simmons Graduate School of Social Work. She also has her own private therapy practice.
We work with all of our Zenie Foundation students together. We enjoy the process of getting to know them, seeing them grow and learn, and mentoring them from college selection, through internships, onto qualified full-time job seekers and into effective leaders in their community. We love to coach them and provide input into their growth as needed throughout their college careers and into their development as effective adults!
