Dear potential ZF applicant,

Thanks for your interest in the Zenie Foundation (ZF). We try to be more than just a scholarship provider; we want to help you get the most from your college experience on your way to becoming an effective adult.
In order to help determine whether we are a good fit, we created a mini-preliminary application called the Pre-Qualify Application (PQA). This was designed based on feedback from previous ZF applicants. The PQA's purpose is to introduce us to each other. Hopefully, our website helps you to get to know us and your PQA will help us get to know you.
The PQA questions are broad. We are not looking for essays, just a few sentences telling us about you in the context of the question. There are no right or wrong or preferred answers. When responding, simply be true to yourself. We also fully understand that everything is subject to change, including your school choice, financial situation, and priorities. This was true for all the ZF students who came before you – and if you move to the second round of consideration, we work through this together.
Our selection committee evaluates all PQAs in mid-January and you will hear from us at the end of January. Our review process is blind. This means that the committee only reviews your answers to the questions and your financial information. They receive no personal contact or identifying information.
The Zenie Foundation scholarship is very competitive. Last year we received 153 PQAs for 10 available scholarships. We have limited financial resources which constrain the number of students we can support. We do our best to select those who fit ZF's student profile.
If you choose to submit your PQA, we look forward to getting to know you!
Best,
ZF Team
