Other interests: Watching movies, spending time with friends & family
How/why did you choose your major? To be involved in any aspect of the filmmaking process has been a dream of mine going back to when I was very young. Having the ability to let the world know the stories you want to tell through the lens of a camera is my passion in life.
What is your relationship with your coaches like? My coaches Mr. Zenie and Mr. Spach have been invaluable through this whole initial college process. They have both helped me gain a better understanding of the significant impact that my college choices at this early stage in my college experience would have on my future success. Throughout this journey, my thought process changed from what I want out of a school, to what school is going to give me the best learning experience while being affordable at the same time. This journey and all the tools provided by the Zenie Foundation, specifically the CAT tool and thought provoking questions were instrumental in my final decision to attend a school that not only provided me with the most affordable education but also would provide the best opportunities in my career path.
What is something you love about your school? What I love about Ithaca College is the community the school and area is built on. My decision to attend a college that is farther away than most of my classmates chose is a decision that I did not think I was interested in. I realized on my trip to visit Ithaca for Accepted Students day that the area that it surrounds isn't too different from if I were going to school in Boston. So despite how far I am going away, where I am heading isn't too radically different from the places where I feel at home. The community at Ithaca College is a very welcoming collaborative environment between both the professors and students.
What hobbies/extracurriculars do you have? Hobbies and other interests that I have are making unforgettable memories with my friends, spending time with family, watching maybe too many movies and trying to envision ideas for films that I can hopefully make in the future.
Why did you apply to ZF? What drew you to the organization? The Zenie Foundation came to Sutton High School at the beginning of our senior year to share more about their foundation. I was able to learn about the core values and mission of this organization all while learning all about the daunting college application/decision making process. Originally, I was hesitant and intimidated to apply as it was more than just gathering a teacher recommendation and submitting an essay. My reluctance to apply even though I did not think I would have been accepted given my choice of major and career path was an obstacle that I had to overcome from the start. With the support and encouragement from my parents, I eventually applied and wouldn't you know, I am now a part of this unique foundation. The personal one-on-one coaching and being able to share what I wanted out of my college experience was invaluable and unique to ZF.
